Tree removal
-Dismantling of a tree; The removal of a tree in sections, usually using ropes and harness or cherry picker. Often branches and timber are lowered to the ground with ropes in a controlled manner.
- Felling; A controlled directional cut near the base of the tree (only performed when safe, appropriate and conditions allow).
Tree pruning
Crown reduction; reducing the overall size of a trees crown whilst maintaining its shap and structural integrity. Often done to allow light into a property, maintain view and reduce the windsail of a tree thus reducing the risk of failure.
Crown lifting; removal of the lower branches to a specified height. This can increase light or simply maintain regulation heights for pedestrians and traffic over footpaths and roads.
Crown thinning; the removal of a percentage of branches throughout the crown of a tree. This allows light to penetrate through the canopy and allows air to circulate whilst maintaining the grandeur of a tree. (Often less intrusive than a reduction).
Pollarding; removing all branches from a tree leaving a well shaped framework of limbs. This reduces the risk of branch failure greatly and in time can produce a much smaller nicely shaped tree. This can allow trees to exist in area of limited space.
Retrenchment; The removal of large, defective portions of the tree, to maintain safety and encourage new juvenile growth, giving the tree a new lease of life. often only carried out to over-mature or ancient trees to maintain longevity.
Stump grinding & killing
Depending on the size of the task in hand, location and access, tree stumps and root can either be ground out (usually to a depth of 200-300mm below ground level or deeper at request), dug out (if small or access with a machine is impractical) or simply poisoned/killed with the use of herbicides.
Hedge trimming and reduction
Hedge Trimming; With quality in mind and the right tools for the job, hedges of all shapes and sizes trimmed to your specification.
Hedge reduction ; This is the reduction in height of a often unruly hedge. please note that this type of work is best carried out, outside of bird nesting season.
Chipping and green waste removal service
We can chip branches and timber or pickup and dispose of your unwanted green waste. Our wood chippings and green waste is recycled and used as mulch/week suppressant by local community gardens and allotments sites or taken to a designated green waste recycling site and made into compost for reuse.
Tree reports and surveys
Tree Condition Reports cover a tree owners legal responsibility, under "The Duty Of Care Act" ensuring that trees growing within their property do not pose and unacceptable risk to people or property.
Tree surveys & condition reports; a survey and report will contain a site plan, the tree species, dimensions, maturity, any visible major defects within the tree and its physiological and structural condition.
